Review of Metropolitan (1990) by Ryan H — 14 Jul 2011
Pretty great. Follows young preppy adults (or UHB) who try to go through their deb season while a newcomer is added to the group due to a single party. He is a west sider. He is not as wealthy. He rents his suit.
He is against it all, yet he takes part in it. He doesn't want to go out because he wants to think about the less fortunate, but he is the less fortunate. And these people are showing him what it's like to just take part in societies standards, whether or not they agree with them.
It's just what people do. Well the ending is quite great when they all are tired of their group. This isn't normal and they are their own people. Worth a watch, especially for some great dialogue and laughs about people who have strong opinions about things they have never seen or read.
