Review of Metropia (2009) by Sacha C — 25 Nov 2010
The animation work on this is spectacular. However, the plot has one too many holes for it to fully deliver. It follows in the vein of the great distopian sci-fi that has gone before it, but ultimately it is hard to say what they are warning us about: the dangers of dandruff shampoo? international rail lines? transnational corporations with misguided plots to control the minds of call center employees? It is all a little muddled and ends up not really going much of anywhere.
