I was blind-sided by this movie. I expected just another slapdashes pseudo-documentary about crime and life in a slum in a far off part of the world ala a lesser City of God. But after seeing this, I was eager to seek out the director's and actora' other works because this movie is simply brilliant.

I was pleasantly surprised - this is awell-acted, often poignant and almost always beautifully rendered story about what it means to be a man forced to reckon the choice of his family's dignity or its prosperity.

Well-done.
