Review of Meth (2006) by Sam M — 14 May 2008
Wow, this is an effective documentary. Like the films of Erroll Morris, director Ahlberg uses startling and seemingly unrelated images to provoke emotions in the viewer to aid the poignancy of some of the more meaningful points in the film.
The subjects are all articulate in their own right, and even poetic. The comedy in the beginning holds through, even when things start to seem bleak. This is a vastly important film, and it is a shame that it is so obscure.
The stories will haunt you.
