Review of Metallica: Through the Never (2013) by Ryan C — 17 Oct 2013
...Surpasses being a "great" concert film. This was a film masterfully planned out and executed. The concert footage is fluently edited with the scripted events unfolding outside the arena during the show.
The sound is excellent and the visuals are over-the-top and at many times surreal, which is a good thing for the film, and it plays well against the real concert footage. Though his character never speaks a word, Dane DeHaan's performance as the roadie in the scripted sequences greatly surpasses the depth and complexity that the role demands.
If you are a METALLICA fan, see this movie. I am, and I had an absolute blast!
