Review of Messengers 2: The Scarecrow (2009) by Lisa B — 14 Aug 2009
So you had one reverse-mainstream rape scene...good on ya. But why sacrifice the rest of the film for it? The story made little sense, and while the male lead was great, the rest of the characters were just average and under.
The story felt thrown together and like little time was spent trying to make it work. The first film was much better, if intending to watch a standard horror film by today's standards. This movie is something you'd watch if you wanted a lame-ass sci-fi scary movie, with poor special effects, sporadically placed sex to grab the male viewers, nothing to satisfy the females, and such predictability and foreshadowing that you feel like you're a freakin' fortune teller.
