Review of Message in a Bottle (1999) by Ian P — 21 Aug 2013
A romance movie base from the written novel of popular romance novelist Nicholas Sparks - his first novel to movie adaptation. This is a story of love lost and found. But this is also a story of grieve, letting go and recovering from lost.
It may be overly dramatic and tearjerker but the story is really touching that it requires to do so. It has nice settings just like the other Sparks movies. Message in a Bottle has a simple twist romance story but it is a movie that make you think about what if, assuming and if only.
Lastly, it shares that loss is a part of our journey in life yet it should lead us to be grateful of the love that we had. Robin Wright and Kevin Costner might lack romantic chemistry on the eyes of other audiences yet they deliver decent acting to the film.
