Review of Mesrine: Public Enemy #1 (2008) by Pascal A — 16 Dec 2009
If you thought Part 1 was gripping then Part 2 will blow you away. The 2nd chapter of the Mesrine saga tells the story of his latter years as a criminal - robbing banks and courting the media to make him be seen as a bit of a celebrity until his eventual murder by the police on the streets of Paris.
Vincent Cassel is just brilliant as Jacques Mesrine showing the 2 sides of the character - caring father and son but also a brutal violent criminal. Without a doubt it's one of the best crime thrillers I've seen in a while.
