Review of Mesrine: Public Enemy #1 (2008) by Stephen C — 09 Mar 2010
If anything the second part of the Mesrine story is even better than the first as it traces the latter career and final downfall of Jacques Mesrine.
Once again Cassel is simply stunning in the lead role ,giving the part width and dimension that no other actor could provide.
The action parts feel very much like that of A Michael Mann film and thats no bad thing and the supporting cast is a top quality one including Mathieu Amalric of Quantum of Solace fame, much better here as a Mesrine accomplice.
The film never lets go of your interest once and by the end you fell amazed at the life this man lead.
Great stuff although you should try to see both parts together.
