Review of Meru (2015) by Victor V — 05 Sep 2015
An extraordinary film that isn't just about mountain climbing, but about what it truly means to be human in an imperfect, and dangerous world. A tale of ambition, daring, loss, commitment, and yes, love of one another set against a stunning backdrop of some of the most gorgeous scenery on Earth.
It is a shame that this epic drama is not getting wider play, as it contains more hard truths about life and how we deal with them than 100 Hollywood produced films with fictional dialogue and characters. "Meru" is real, and one of the most inspiring and truthful films I have seen in years.
Go see it.
