Review of Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983) by Gavin T — 18 Jul 2009
Hmmm, Can't see why this film is rated so highly.
Call me old fashioned, but the music in the film should at least have some sort of match to the era being portrayed. So, whilst the main theme tune from the film is a great piece of music, it just throws me out from thinking this is a film set in the mid 40's.
Also, Bowie is not really that good an actor.
Mind you, the end scene is rather well done, and brings a lump to the throat.
