Tremendously violent, shocking and beautiful. I've seen Oshima's "In the Realm of the Senses", but coming into this, I didn't expect a second of this film to be as great as I thought it was (I loved "In the Realm" though).
It is a flawed film. Even somewhat clichà (C). But, I'd prefer a good art house film over a great regular film any day.
