Review of Mermaids (1990) by Angie L — 02 Feb 2008
02-02-08 --Mermaids is one of those movies that talk about "unconventional" families. This is definately one of those different type of families that are oh so common in the US. The oldest daughter (Winona) is disillusioned by religion and the youngest daughter just wants to be an Olympic level swimmer.
Both don't know their fathers. The mother is so concerned with not being committed to a relationship that it affects the whole family. Everyone has to settle down sometime. By the way I have to say every time I see Bob Hoskins I can only think of Roger Rabbit.
Chick Flick but a worthy watch.
