Review of Mercy (2014) by Abb J — 04 Oct 2015
Mercy: This slow burning creeper, VERY loosely based on the Stephen King short story "Gramma," is about a single mom and two boys that move in to take care of her ailing, bedridden mother. While the rest of the family is convinced Grandma Mercy is suffering from dementia, a series of events leads grandson Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead) to wonder if grandma's past dabblings in the supernatural has unleashed an evil entity upon them.
Some embarrassingly hokey special effects are the biggest detraction to this otherwise well-acted and visually compelling film. B-.
