Review of Mercury Rising (1998) by Naische F — 15 Nov 2008
This could have had it all, but the producers wanted to focus the story on that kid... Late 1990s Bruce Willis action movie against Alec Baldwin as the villain. Fans of both actors will enjoy their respective scenes.
Great musical score as usual from James Bond veteran John Barry. But why did we need those scenes with that kid?? So-so mediocre effort with a few saving graces here and there. Still the best scene of the movie has to be the meeting of Willis and Baldwin in a wine cellar - vintage stuff! Great ending too, somewhat reminiscent of the 'Die Hard 1' finale with Alan Rickman on a rooftop.
