Review of Mercury Rising (1998) by Sam R — 25 May 2009
Forgettable, alright while watching ... but nothing more.

SECOND VIEWING.
Watched it again couple of nights ago. My initial statement is right, it is very forgettable - as I was able to almost watch it as a new film - and now 2 days later I'm struggling to remember enough to write a review! But I appreciated a little bit more this time around how well the boy was played. The holes in the story are so many that it is sometimes hard to watch. Why would someone want a little boy killed because it can crack a code. And the notion that everyone just has contract killers at their disposal is kind a hard to swallow. Finally when Bruce character begs the help of a stranger is where the movie falters... Up to that point the movie was promising and even enjoyable, but the pace changes there and the film becomes ridiculous.
