A fairly routine thriller with Bruce Willis virtually reprising his John McLane Die Hard role as troubled maverick FBI agent Art Jeffries. When autistic Simon Lynch (a veteran of 27 movies who's now just 18) cracks a code hidden in a puzzle book by a government agency (yes, really) Alec Baldwin's shady suit orders the boy's permanent removal from the equation. This is where the alarm bells first rang for me; if one autistic kid could crack the code in seconds wouldn't the secret organisation have to off every living person with that affliction to ensure that the code retains its credibility?? This is one of many large holes in the dumb, hackeneyed plot, that wastes Alec Baldwin in a stock baddie performance. You really would expect more from the director of Sea of Love and Malice.
