Review of Ménilmontant (1926) by Eric R — 28 Oct 2008
This film is a technical masterpiece of editing, direction and sound. The visuals are absolutetly incredible and the score is just as impressive. Its a melodramatic story of jealously and innocence involving two orphaned sisters that is executed to perfection.
Its a visual poem that is right up there with Eisenstein's 'Strike' as my favorite silent film ever.
