Review of Men, Women & Children (2014) by Beth D — 28 Nov 2014
Men, Women & Children is a deeply emotional film about the lack of clear communication between people. Though it uses technology as the vessel that is not the message; if it was set two hundred years ago it would use something else and could still get the same result.
With a big and fantastic cast you're able to connect with each of the characters and what pains them particularly Ansel Elgort and Kaitlyn Dever's storyline. Though it is rather contrived it doesn't stop it from being an emotionally effecting film as long as you focus on the people and not the technology.
Beautifully shot and honestly directed by Jason Reitman though the film does fell bit to earnest for its own good.
