I won't deny that what Men, Women & Children is attempting to do is admirable, but it's just such a mess of a movie that it pretty much swallows any true impact. It dabbles a lot in major generalizations and surface level observations of things like depression, loneliness, growing up, the internet, video games and so on.

Nothing is actually focused on too heavily beside the fear of internet, which is both it's biggest target and the stories essential back bone. Intertwining four stories sort of falls apart because we hardly spend much time with any individual character or characters.

Again it's all got great intentions but dissipates by its own ambition. Other movies have done the same thing better.
