Review of Men of Honor (2000) by Thomas C — 26 Jul 2010
A pleasant surprise. Although it follows the formula of many other Military Training Academy films (An Officer & A Gentleman, Top Gun, etc.) it had a twist in the tale which I didn't see coming. All the cast are generally very good but Charlize Theron's character was quite pointless. Although it does have a few scenes coated in the usual Hollywood schmaltz and the music score is one of those overpatriotic anthems, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
A real shame that all Cuba Gooding, Jr's films since have been terrible.
