Review of Men of Honor (2000) by Natalie W — 21 Jan 2011
A truly wonderful film. In the beginning I was laughing my ass off when the African American servicemen in the kitchen were joking about "Big Future". Of course the tone got much more serious throughout the movie.
Cuba Gooding put on a superb performance as usual. He is truly inspiring. When you watch movies like this it really makes you reflect on United States history and how baffling it is that prejudice of that kind existed.
How fear and arrogance truly fuel it. People need to feel superior to feel like they themselves matter so they convince themselves that they are better than others. De Niro is impeccable as usual. I decided to watch this for the 100th time on the netflix instant watch.
Sure I'll add more later.
