Review of Men in Black II (2002) by Christopher H — 25 May 2012
A useless and unnecessary sequel that blatantly recycles elements from the first movie. The jokes and gags from the first one are repeated, except, it is not as funny this time around. The film's role reversal with Jay teaching an amnesiac Kay on the tropes of being an agent just feels unnatural.
Lara Flynn Boyle is severely misacted for the villain role. There are a few fleeting moments of genuine humor but even that is not enough to save this disposable cash-in on the superior (and cooler) first film.
I suggest sticking with the original.
