After the first "Men in Black" became a critical and financial success, audiences where waiting for a sequel and finally five years later they got it.

After the end of the last film, Agent J has been looking for a permanent partner to replace Agent K who now lives a normal life a mailman but when a shape shifting alien arrives to Earth looking for another alien to unlock the necessary power to destroy the world, Agent J will need to get Agent K back on the film to once again save the world.

Following a successful film is always a tricky task to accomplish but making a worthy follow-up to "Men in Black" wasn't that challenging but unfortunately Hollywood decided to go to typical sequel territory: Reuse of ideas. "Men in Black II" tries too hard to recapture the magic that made the first film a hit but it repeats jokes, style and plot. Even the greatest thing that the last film had (Smith and Jones chemistry) is destroyed by a role reversal which completely doesn't work. On top that problem they even include a completely force and unnecessary love story that makes this barely average film more dreadful to watch. Sure this film may have a moment or two but still doesn't worth all the mediocrity in between.

"Men in Black II" is one of the most forgettable sequels to be release in recent years, it's not awful but there is nothing worth watching here if you have seen the last film and if you hadn't watch its predecessor go watch it over this barely average sequel.
