Review of Men in Black II (2002) by Kadeem S — 06 Sep 2012
My favorite Men in Black II moment was when Frank the Pug singing Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," Agent Jay said:
"Frank, bring your head up in this window before I roll it up in there.".
Frank: Right!
(Frank Humming).
Jay: Frank!
I enjoyed some good laughs and incredible action from MIB II, however, the Worm Guys and Frank were the best.
The 2nd sequel just wasn't quite match up to the original Men in Black, I felt that some of the settings in the story just needed a little more time restraint and I thought it was going to be a recycled script with the same lines from MIB I. If Barry Sonnenfeld should've made a lesson learned from Will Smith's big flop-turned-cult classic Wild Wild West, then he shouldn't put Will in a role as a cowboy who wishes he saves the world from diabolical metal machines, but it didn't help the critics and fans and that's why the movie is a mess.
Then, Barry and Will came back for Men in Black II and, well since Will said he didn't like the role that he was supposed to be in 1999, then how come he teams with him 4 years later?
Well, I got Men in Black II already on DVD, but I'd just leave it and think about the mistakes they made. I think this is one of the big disappointing sequels that no fan should ever watch.
