Review of Men in Black (1997) by Mike H — 16 Jun 2012
Always one of the first movies I think of when I think summer blockbuster. Maybe that's because as a 12 year old in 1997 who bought the MIB soundtrack from WalMart with quarters it was meant for my demographic.
Although today Will Smith's jokes and wardrobe are dated and slightly corny.... Tommy Lee Jones is timeless and so is this movie. It's the kind of movie you watch when you need something to put you in a good mood.
Not over the top in any one area of Sci-fi, Comedy, or Action, it coasts through all three genres seamlessly in an smart and easy to watch, spectacle of a movie. It would have been so easy to get this movie wrong and yet almost everyone likes it.
