One of the best sci-fi/ comedies ever, MIB is "Ghostbusters" with aliens. Barry Sonnenfeld ("The Addams Family", "Get Shorty") is in his top form here. MIB moves at a very brisk pace.
It's buoyed by memorable performances, Oscar-winning makeup by Rick Baker, a delightful Danny Elfman score, and a witty script. MIB has barely any actual depth; it was made purely to entertain, and it succeeds admirably.
