Review of Memphis Belle (1990) by Lenny R — 28 Aug 2012
War movie based on one stand out mission. Thats the way I like my war movies. For aircraft buffs there was some fabulous footage of Bomber planes in motion, along with some tense dogfight action. Because the movie focuses on one flight mission only, the tension, chaos, fear and general commotion is expressed brilliantly.
Not quite in real time, but you could feel the isolation and scale of distance travelled. It's tight up there. There are no rules. Anything can happen And when it does, it's always the 1st time and nobody is really prepared for it.
The guys just survived on their wits. Nice simple movie.
