Review of Memory (2006) by Cynthia S — 23 Oct 2010
This film is better and more solid than most b-grade fair of similar nature. With a decent cast consisting of veterans like Billy Zane, Tricia helfer, Dennis Hopper, Ann-Margret and Terry Chen the acting is better than most films of this stature.
I've seen so many films with similar stories and they're often confusing, poorly put together and hard to follow but Memory manages to stay consistent and coherent the entire time. The "puzzle" has all it's pieces and with little effort, can be put together.
The film isn't scary as far as I'm concerned and doesn't really try to be. It's mostly a mystery/thriller with aspects of science and horror mixed in. You can either try and figure things out (some are obvious, others aren't) or you can sit back and let the mystery unfold.
If you like the idea of a serial killer murder mystery Memory is worth a rental.
