Review of Memories of Murder (2003) by Andrew S — 03 Aug 2013
A black comedy rife with social commentary like Bong Joon-Ho's later work The Host except this one follows a pair of rural South Korean detectives as they search for a murderer attacking only in the rain when a particular song plays.
The methodical nature however begins to be overturned when logic and the circumstantial evidence begins to distort. The comedy soon sheds away and we see the true characters remain. First time rating: 7.
6/10.
