Review of Memories of Murder (2003) by Torbjorn N — 06 Jan 2010
Corrupt cops enter the realm of a serial killer, ill prepared in every way. The film is filled with a sense of comedy in the form of flying kung fu kicks, uncertainty and paranoia. The setup of the murder scenes form part of this paranoia and though quiet terrifying, do not devolve into torture sequences.
It also features one of the great denouements, which is both poetic and cutting at the same time.
