Review of Memories of Murder (2003) by Hana A — 22 Dec 2007
It was a good movie on many levels but I didn't like it. I don't know if i'm being naive but being a woman I felt very uncomfortable with how the murdered women weren't really given any 'identity' at all, like they were merely ants getting hunted down.
on further thought, I guess it just disturbed me how they focused more on the mentalities of the detectives (them going insane about catching the guy) than actually caring about the victims. that doesn't mean it wasn't a great film though, and it was beautiful in many ways.
. I just didn't really enjoy it personally.
