Review of Memories of Murder (2003) by Bhairav C — 10 Aug 2008
A dark, moody, sombre and haunting drama based on actual murders and events set in 1986 South Korea. An absolute power house cast shows the gradual physical and mental deterioration of the police contrasted with the gruesome acts of the killer.
The pace maybe a bit slow for some but Joon-Ho Boong deftly and surely takes the road less traveled in this genre of film making. There will be no easy answers on offer here. Highly highly recommended.
