Review of Memories of Matsuko (2006) by Phil N — 07 Jan 2010
Tetsuya Nakashimaâ??s next feature after the excellent Kamikaze Girls, Memories Of Maksuko is a sentimental journey looking back at the life of singer / masseuse / hairdresser / murderer Matsuko by her nephew Shou after sheâ??s found dead.
Beautifully composed itâ??s another technicolour delight, but is overly melodramatic and feels too drawn out and repetitive in places.
