Review of Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) by Gabriela O — 25 Feb 2010
Simply put, this movie was a work of art. I don't know anybody who cannot like this film unless you have no culture or just don't understand how important and extraordinary the art of becoming a Geisha is.
The story was wonderfully put and showed how the the Geisha (Ziyi) had to overcome a miserable life of jealously & herrasment. This movie was extremely touching and had such a wonderful ending. The love she had followed and spent time with all her life, would finally at last be together.
The scenery was really incredible. The acting and the plot were spectacular aswell. There is not much more to say but to truly see this movie. It involves a wonderful tradition of Japanese culture and can be related to many people.
