I watched this well after reading the book. It's beautifully shot, and the story is interesting. However, the age difference between Sayuri and the Chairman is enough to successfully creep me out and keep me from really enjoying it.
I don't feel like their love is actually love, but a juvenile obsession and borderline sexual predator behavior.
