Review of Memento (2000) by Edward G — 07 Jan 2014
The best and most poignant part of the movie is when you finally piece everything together and truly understand what Leonard has been going through. Throughout the film we believe that we, similar to Leonard, are investigating his wife's murder but slowly toward the end of the film we finally realize that the puzzle we are putting together is in fact Leonard's lost and tragic life.
The "I've Done It" Tattoo is subtle yet powerful way of corroborating the true tragedy behind the story. And the best way to portray Leonard's erratically confusing life is by showing things in segments and fragments- like memories that are prone to change, backward and forward.
