A man who was knocked unconscious wakes up with a rare condition where he doesn't possess short term memory. Nevertheless, he desperately tries to get revenge on the man that raped and murdered his wife.
Nolan displays all his stylistic power in this fast paced gripping and compelling thriller where he messes with chronology by telling the main storyline from end to start., with the film kicking off as the lead character played by Guy Pearce kills the man he has been looking for.
In doing so, he creates an original kind of suspense that works a charm, as the layers of plot are peeled and the surprising twist is revealed in its conclusion. Brilliantly shot and wonderfully puzzling, this film is based on a short story by the director's own brother.
