Review of Memento (2000) by Jonathan R — 04 Dec 2012
On my first viewing, I felt the film was too difficult to follow. I admired the acting and cinematography, but was left frustrated by the amount of head-scratching required. However, on my second viewing, I was much more able to assess the film without the complications of having to wrack my brains to follow the timeline.
It's a very interesting film, well-written and cleverly structured. Guy Pearce is very good, and Joe Pantoliano is a scene-stealer. The cinematography and editing are very well done.
