Review of Melinda and Melinda (2004) by Casey B — 26 Feb 2006
I've never been a fan of Woody Allen's, and nothing has changed. I suppose the concept of the story was interesting, but the acting left much to be desired, save Radha Mitchell's performance.
She plays a convincingly neurotic smoker. Allen proves to us once again that he can write dialog that no one on this planet speaks in a story so unbelievably dull I downed two tall vodka tonics in the first hour.
His failed attempt at capturing the lavish, trendiness of New York yuppidom made me appreciate my unglamorous life as a single, cat-owning healthcare worker who is forced to work every weekend of her life.
At least I can thank you for that, Woody.
