An interesting exercise in storytelling. The film opens at a restaraunt, with two playwrights discussing whether or not the essence of life is more comedic, or tragic. We are then given a premise for a story and both writers then unravel their versions of how the story is more a comedy or tragedy.

Written the way that only Woody Allen could, it's definitely an inventive idea for a movie. Will Ferrell (in the comedic portion of the film) plays his character like a young Woody Allen.

And while the film is neither hilarious enough to be much of a comedy, nor dramatic enough to be much of a tragedy, I still give Allen an A for effort. At least he is doing something different than the rest of the flock.
