Review of Melinda and Melinda (2004) by Katy M — 27 Nov 2010
This film was extremely entertaining and certainly not one to avoid if you are someone who on the whole doesn't like Woody Allen's work.
The premise for the film is somewhat unique and pivots around a conversation that a group of friends get into over dinner at a restaurant. A hypothetical question is posed, a sort of what-if? and the film then moves to a pair of fantasy scenarios which explore the two different realities based on the 'what if', with very different outcomes.
The cast is simply superb, including Will Ferrell, Amanda Peet and Jonny Lee Miller, all of whom really bring the two imagined realities to life and weave a truly captivating tale. An intelligent piece and brilliant example of Woody Allen's seemingly endless talent.
