Review of Melancholia (2011) by Tom H — 22 Oct 2012
I do not think I have ever watched a movie quite like Melancholia. Beautiful cinematography, classic music, and well acted with not so subtle symbolism throughout. Beware that the film is bizarre beginning with the premise and then from the first minute on.
It may be best described as a social and astronomical nightmare all in one. From an artistic standpoint I give it five stars. However I can not recommend it. It might permanently damage you. If you choose to watch it have an ample supply of anti-depressants on hand.
You will love it or hate it.
