It captures the many swings in mood and the utter banal turns depression takes while the idea of a world dead to oneself is captured with mesmerizing images. Dunst and Gainsbourg are electric and the visuals draw influences from "Last Year at Marienbad" to "Solaris" and the reviewer is getting tired and is ending this review of "Melancholia" .
