Review of Megamind (2010) by Sahara K — 27 Apr 2012
Being evil rocks! Kind of.
In this animated film, Megamind is the star of the show. After he defeats his arch-nemesis, Metroman. Yes, Metroman is the hero. Megamind after realizing that being a ruler isn't what its cracked up to be and falling into depression once he sees that he has no purpose anymore without Metroman he decides to create another superhero in which he can fight, however things go horribly wrong. And the superhero he creates 'Titan' decides that its better to be a supervillen. In desperation to correct this he goes to the only person he knows that can help Roxanne, the girl that Megamind has kidnapped numorious times before. She accepts. Which later becomes quite an interesting sub-plot. The remainder of the movie details how this new threat is defeated.
All the characters are interesting and I found myself being sympathetic towards Megamind, who had me right from the get go. And his story is rather sad and tragic. As well as relatable to Metroman and his decisions throughout the film. Along with this it has an awesome soundtrack with the likes of AC/DC with 'High way to hell' and 'Back in Black', Guns n' Roses with 'Welcome to the Jungle', and even Micheal Jackson with 'Bad'. This combined with the plot really makes the movie Rock and pushed it from a 4-4 and a half too 5 stars for me. A great film.
Megamind: Oh you are a villain all right. Just not a SUPER one.
Titan: What's the difference?
Megamind:PRESENTATION!
