Considering this is a low budget sci-fi it does rather well. The effects are rather computer FMV style but thats part of the enjoyment of this film. The film is far more about the crew of the drilling rig than it is about the prehistoric shark and that's my only grumble.
Compare this to the Sy-Fy channel productions and this is leagues ahead.
