I thought Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus was bad, but fighting a fictional Crocosaurus with the guy who played Urkel as the main hero is not something I could miss.

Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus instantly transcends its poor quality predecessor because instead of opening with a lot of boring talking and crap it instead jumps right into the thrills of entertaining action, entertaining in its poor quality and its attempts to dramatise the situation with poor acting a loud musical score. And afterwards it attempts to keep this tone the whole time which is actually a very strong benefit in a horror film.

Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus very soon shows off that it is actually everything that I wanted in Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus: it's a buttload of poor quality visual effects and poor acting shot over some decent locations, with particular emphasis on the fact that there is a significantly larger quantity of screentime for the titular beasts this time which makes it out top be the entertaining poor quality monster movie I wanted to see. The Asylum delivered what I wanted, and that's what makes Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus an entertaining film. It doesn't make it a good film, but its not supposed to be a good film. Its entertaining because it has plenty off footage of the Mega Shark and the Crocosaurus causing havoc, and even Steve Urkel from Family Matters reacting to it all.

Its hilarious watching Jaleel White deliver his lines in Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus because he clearly has no idea what hes talking about when he delivers his lines, and although its obvious that none of the actors do, its so much funnier coming from Jaleel White because that's Steve Urkel playing a wannabe marine biologist that survives a megalodon attack and helps to fight them. His performance is very entertaining and he really does try hard to be serious. Although there is no way this could ever work because of the film and because of his history as an 1980's sitcom actor, he shows promise as an actor and even a sense that one day he might be able to play a hero in a serious film. He shows promise in Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus, even if it is burdened by a laughably stupid script and intentional poor quality.

Lastly, the actual battle between the titular titans is actually pretty entertaining and climactic, as well as significantly less repetitive than Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus as it features a decent amount of footage of fighting beasts.

So as far as terrible poor-quality visual effects ridden direct-to-dvd monster films released by The Asylum go, Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus is surely one of their best efforts and is bound to supply entertainment to viewers that are happy enough to sacrifice the want for anything close to depth or intelligence in a film so that they can enjoy and laugh at the terrible filmmaking. If you think 4 stars is too much, remember the standard for these films, examine the quantity of entertainment that comes with the cheap visual effects and add the fact that Jaleel White is the lead actor.
