Review of Mega Piranha (2010) by Martin B — 19 Jan 2011
The Piranha movie business is booming.
Here we have version of the concept which starts off in Venezuela. Lokal Fishermen has done something to the river fish. The Piranha eats the fish and gets strange, and than they start growing. At first they don't grow so fast, then they grow as fast as animated killer fish could ever do.
The Piranha jumps around, sometimes into buildings that instantly explodes. They enjoy eating steel. They survive a nuclear attack. .. well you hear.... this film is far from any reason... It's like a B-movie on crack..
Other films of this nature often have logic gaps included, not this one though, since there's no plot at all really, nothing to put gaps into really.
But it's still some stupid fun.
The Social study of Venuzuela however leaves a lot to be desired to. The feeling is more Cuba in Batista time in present time so-to-speak.
