Review of Meeting Evil (2012) by Andrea H — 22 Nov 2012
Although this movie wasn't what I expected it to be (based on the trailers), I think that Sam Jackson delivered a solid performance. There are plenty of things that happened in this movie that seemed like the director forgot about them, but overall I'm not upset that I watched it. Of the actors in the film, Sam Jackson and Leslie Bibb were the best. Luke Wilson's character could have been played by pretty much anyone else in Hollywood. There were moments where Wilson's portrayal of John, the down on his luck down trodden husband and father of 2, just made no logical sense. Granted, some of that has to be blamed on writing and directing, but if Natalie Portman can put on shine on the Star Wars prequels he could have done more with this role. Sam Jackson is a dynamite bad guy, plain and simple. Leslie Bibb shines as a wife and mother trying to do the best she can with a crappy situation.
I would suggest that this movie is a must see for Sam Jackson fans, all others should skip it.
