Review of Meet the Robinsons (2007) by Igor O — 27 May 2011

Quite a good effort by Disney after Chicken Little. The only thing I don't like is the design of the main character. Not adorable. Story begin with a baby been abandon at a doorstep of an orphanage.

Grow up to be Lewis who likes to invent. Hundreds over adoption failure he now wants to find his real mum. Invented a machine to tap into deep memory. Every night make his friend Goob sleepless. At he science fair, a boy Wilbur warn him about a bowler hat guy.

The hat is a robot and it sabotage his device. Demostration turn into chaos. Lewis feel lousy. The bowler guy steals it. Lewis is angry to fail and tear his notes. Wilbur brings him to the future. Lewis want to use the time machine to see his mum but tussle around cause to crash.

They make a deal to fix it and he can see his mum. Bowler guy try to pass off the device as his own in future company but didn't know how it work. Got thrown out. Must go back to kidnap Lewis. He bumble around in the house and saw all the crazy family members.

When bowler saw Goob, he tells him turn anger into something useful. Lewis 1st attempt to fix the time machine fails. Dinner time, Lewis fail to fix the jam machine but the family still cheer him on. Bowler use the mini bowler to control a dinosaur to kidnap Lewis.

The family members all fight together. Lewis also save Wilbur from been eaten. The bowler hat got nick out buy Wilbur. They are going to adopt Lewis but Wilbur quickly remove his cap. Immediately they won't adopt him, ask him to go.

Lewis is sad Wilbur lie to him. Lure by the bowler man, he teach him how to on the device. Turns out he is Goob. And future great inventer, also father of Wilbur. Goob want revenge because his sleepless night cause him to miss a catch at the baseball.

He got emo and didn't get adopted. Only one left at the close orphanage. Vows revenge. The bowler is invented by Lewis of future to help human but it has got too smart, a mind of its own. Was deactivated but it escape, find Goob to form partnership.

Lewis boy been push down to die but save by Wilbur. Goob pass off the invention as his own and the future changed immediately. Wilbur disappear on the spot. The future became over rule by bowler robots.

Lewis fix the time machine and escape. Go to the moment when Goob sign the contract, deactivated bowler. Show Goob the scary future. He is sad and run off. The future Lewis show boy Lewis around and the invention is the one that started it all.

He return to the past. Wilbur bring him to see his mum. But he didn't approach and say he hve a family. He also go to the game to wake Goob up and he caught the ball. Lewis demostrate his machine with the science teacher doing the test.

Turns out she and husband is the grandpa and grandma he saw. They adopted him. At the fair, he also saw his future wife. His path was all happy and smooth after adoption and follow what the future is.

Happy ending in the end. The ending is quite a good one and save the movie more.
